Dr. No, the first James Bond film, was released in the United Kingdom on October 5, 1962. It was directed by Terence Young and starred Sean Connery as James Bond. The film was based on the 1958 novel of the same name by Ian Fleming and was the first appearance of the character James Bond on the big screen.
