This trope refers to the act of performing a scene with a child that will convince awful people into a self-revealing trap. It is similar to the Beauty and the Beast moment, but it is specifically aimed at people who harbour desires of accessing children.
Since ALL child actors will invariably attract attention, they are shown with a man who will receive the interest of the target class. What they do together must be borderline intimate for the people who are missing the story. The rule of this performance is that a child should only be held by a member of their own family. Therefore, that moment where the girl sits on the lap of an older man, she is simply connecting with a relative she doesn’t see often.
A Photo, or a very short video, intending to convince someone that something is going is Conviction Media. The act of distributing this content to as many people as possible is Broadcast.
An example of this trope is when Kirk Douglas visited Turkey in 1964 and lifted the dress of a child actress, to sign it. The moment was photographed and distributed so that potential predators would seek out her dad, or the American actor (who is also related to her). This is an excellent example of a photo that makes you look twice!
