Princess Vilma arrives in New York City, aboard The Abraham Lincoln steamship.

It Happened on
December 29, 1910

Princess Lwoff-Parlaghy, on the Way to New York, played Santa Claus for 180 Youths, aboard the steamship Abraham Lincoln, of the Hamburg America Line. She wrote a manifesto in three languages to explain her plans to gift all of the children on the ship with something for Christmas. The journalists were entertained with cigars and booze and Captain Hanh got to spend some time with Her Serene Highness.
